If you have a strong quantitative background and are interested in our research, please get in touch to discuss joining or visiting our group.
Our research is focused on the development of new algorithms for the analysis of (typically large) genomic data sets. This requires a computational background (e.g., statistics, machine learning, algorithms, scientific programming). Our projects are computational, although it is important to be excited about applications within genetics or biology a background in these disciplines is helpful but not required.
- Postdocs: We are currently advertising a 3-year ERC-funded postdoc in Statistical Machine Learning for Genomics. Full job posting and application details. We are also happy to discuss potential fellowship applications and opportunities to visit our group.
- PhD/DPhil students: applicants are encouraged to read about our work and apply to doctoral programs, listing Pier Palamara as a potential supervisor to ensure the application is routed to us. Doctoral programs we are affiliated with include the DPhil in Statistics, StatML CDT, Healthcare Data Science CDT, and the DPhil in Genomic Medicine and Statistics.
